Ahana Basu Roy is a Humanities student of grade twelve at La Martiniere for Girls, Kolkata. She is a member of the Model United Nations Society and the Debate Circle. Besides being actively engaged in public speaking, she regularly participates in elocution, extempore, creative writing competitions, and has been the Director of school-level plays. She is the Founder of Pnyx Model United Nations which raised funds for the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, and for the support of Indian Migrant Workers. She has also served as the Joint Coordinator of the Annual High-School Internship Programme, under the Centre for Studies in International Relations and Development, where she authored a research paper on the ‘Advent of Biological Warfare and Human Experimentation.’ She has held various leadership positions in school including School Captain, Senior Prefect, Editor of the History Journal, Member of the Department of English of the Editorial Board, Deputy Secretary General and Chairperson at LMCMUN 2020. She has been a volunteer at several NGOs. An excellent student Ahana is an avid reader, with a fascination towards Modern Classical Literature
