Call for Internship

Asia in Global Affairs (AGA) announces its internship programme for January to June 2023.

The aim of the organization is to explore the society, polity, culture and economy of Asia in general and the Eurasian and West Asian region in particular, with the aim of studying and establishing their linkages with India.

. Some of the key areas of research are:

• Frontiers, Identities and Conflict
• Security, Democracy and Governance
• Culture and Heritage
• Demography, Migration and Displacement
• Linkages, Connects and Legacies
• Diversity, Diaspora and Urban space
• Energy, Environment and Development
• Gender, Society and State

The thrust of the internship programme would be on India’s Foreign Policy, Bilateral and Multilateral Relations, Regionalism and Regional Organizations, Connectivity, Infrastructure and Global Governance in the Asian context. Inculcating awareness of and building expertise on Asia and Asian Studies would be the core focus of the programme.

One of the multiple ways in which the organization seeks to fulfil its research objectives is by encouraging a robust internship programme whereby each intern is assigned a mentor who guides him/her in acquiring research writing skills.

Duration and Responsibilities

1. The duration of the internship programme is 6 months.
2. The intern is expected to author an article or opinion piece each month which will be published as reflections/dialogue/commentary after a review process. In addition, interns may be required to critically review books, articles and films.
3. The Intern is expected to participate in events convened by the organization and render assistance as required.
4. The internship programme runs on a virtual mode/work from home basis.

Criterion of Eligibility

1. Pursuing Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from an academic institution of repute.
2. Keen interest and aptitude in Research, Analysis and Writing.
3. Organization and Communication skills.
4. Knowledge of additional language/s is encouraged.
5. The ability to establish and maintain efficient working relationships.

1. Detailed CV.
2. A sample writeup.
3. Letter of recommendation, preferably from the HOD. It is mandatory to obtain recommendation from a faculty of the department in which the candidate is enrolled.

6. The duration of the internship is from January 1 to June 2023.
7. The deadline of receipt of applications is 25 December
